Matt3 18:6

but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone should be hung around his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depths of the sea. shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about

In the Hebrew Bible, the term for “stumbling block” is Biblical Hebrew miḵšōl (מִכְשׁוֹל). In the Septuagint, miḵšōl is translated into Koine Greek skandalon (σκανδαλον), a word which occurs only in Hellenistic literature, in the sense “snare for an enemy; cause of moral stumbling”.

In Judaism, the idea of God as a duality or trinity is heretical and rightfully so— it is even considered by some polytheistic. According to Judaic beliefs, the Torah rules out a trinitarian God in Deuteronomy (6:4): “Hear Israel, the LORD is our God, the LORD is one.”

The trinity teaching immediately turns orthodox Jews away from the gospel message of Christ. It is a deliberate stumbling block set in place to confuse would-be believers and particularly prospective Jewish converts.

Trinitarians know that this false teaching will shut the minds of those who know there is but one Elohim. (Deuteronomy 6:4)
